A New Chapter at Derma Bella — 25 Years in the Making

Can you believe it? This year marks 25 years since I first started practicing Esthetics in this beautiful town (my birth town!) — and I couldn’t be more excited to share a beautiful new chapter with you.

If you remember or are one of my OG clients, you know, I began working at Sanctuary Day Spa in 2000, right after I moved back into the Santa Cruz area just months before marrying my husband. Yes, that means 25 years of marriage this year too! Then I was at Caress Day Spa for a short while while my passion for learning and education continued. I was deeply inspired in my nutritional and internal esthetic studies and helping clients in a way that transformed their skin and their life. I knew that this whole body - source based - physiological, biological + logical approach I was hungry for + aligned with, in an industry that is typically focused primarily on the superficial, needed a place to share it.

Derma Bella Skin Studio was born as a one-woman facial studio, 22 years ago. (Remind me to share my first logo with you! I was, and am still so proud of it and the story behind it with a dear friend.) 

I have had some beautiful friends become like family, work with me in different capacities, through different phases of Derma Bella, (including the phase of becoming a new mom of 2!) that I will be forever grateful for and adore those memories and precious times. 

Now, ( half of my life, later… literally. Yep, I will be 50 this year!) Derma Bella has blossomed into something bigger: a growing team, an expanded menu, and an even deeper commitment to being your trusted source for regenerative skincare and healthy beauty — always delivered with heart and authenticity.

We’re expanding beyond facials to bring my love of brows back to the menu, as well as full body waxing, makeup, and lashes, so you can enjoy a full beauty and wellness experience under one roof. 

I love keeping things VERY streamlined but in order to service more of you and broaden the ability to share the incredible and unique healing modalities and resources we have available, our facial menu is also growing! I am so excited about this and have been waiting for the right time to do this. And it’s finally arrived!

One of the most exciting parts of this evolution is welcoming two exceptional, highly experienced estheticians to our team. At Derma Bella, we’ve always held ourselves to the highest standards — not only in the results we deliver, but in the way we care for each client who walks through our door. As we grow, that promise only deepens.

This exciting expansion reflects our mission: to help you feel your most radiant with more services, more heart, and more ways to support your skin and self-care journey.
